It’s April and time for the Coronado Flower Show, one of my favorite places to go. Hope you like this tour! Coronado Flower Show 2012: Outside the front door, kumquats and calanchas. This is in the kids’ section. Roses with protea. Lilac, smells great. Yes, it’s real. Amaryllis. Cute. Henry Fonda — often the first in the season to bloom. Good in low light. Sorbet. Another variation of saturated yellow. Got your attention? This flower simply shouts out to be seen. A pink trimmed creamy rose. Varigated red with a green hue and… …then seen close up. A simple arrangement of orchids… ….close up. Protea “pin cushion” in yellow. Spray of white orchids, always elegant. A miniature, less than 4 inches tall. A miniature vignette, less than a 6 inch radius. Planted a few years ago, chosen by my son’s girlfriend, now his wife… “Strawberries and Cream” is the name, now about 6 feet tall. This is the front of our house the day of the 2012 Coronado Flower Show …and it makes a lovely bouquet. 2015-04-23
