Friends and neighbors recently enjoyed an evening at the Temecula Valley Polo Club. We had an absolutely fabulous time, in a wonderful setting, watching the quick and nimble little ponies and their riders. I hope you enjoy this slideshow.
Yes, we were this close to the polo field. Others were even closer …right down on the field… …with the kidlets. The polo match viewing tent, set up by the Temecula Valley Polo Club.
Drinks, food and good music.Big trailers carry all the ponies needed for playing The owners change ponies every 7-minute chukker, of which there are six. Future sportsmen… …and pets. …having fun. Great setting for fun with family… The Color Guard arrives. Some pets are bigger than others.
This Great Dane is almost as big as the little polo ponies!Looking sharp. And away they go! And so it begins. Four players and their mounts on each team. This young woman was glad to be there. Men and women play. And they’re off! And after the ball! Go, go go! Quick turns. And lots of action. Chasing it. It’s a big field! Back and forth they go! Getting tired! Really big! The referee confirms it. Fast horse. Chasing that ball! Duking it out. This rider’s going to make a goal! And the flag boy calls it! Goal! Happy rider. Where’d that ball come from? Time to change ponies for fresh ones. They’re so fast! And it was really a gorgeous setting. What a great time! And so close to the players. The setting sun turned the light golden. Gorgeous. Kids were curious to meet the players after the match. Up close and personal. The end to a very good day at the Temecula Valley Polo Club!
We’ll be back!
