Does Coleman believe this is an issue requiring massive government resources (our money) to “solve”? No, he does not. But he does recognize there is a huge, global campaign designed to benefit some at the expense of others.
John Coleman bluntly calls the “climate change” campaign “the greatest scam in history.”
Coleman says he is “amazed,
appalled and highly offended by it. …It is a SCAM. Some dastardly
scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long
term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming.
Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the
circle to support and broaden the ‘research’ to further enhance the
totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in
government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement
going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.”
Some have written on this scam in great detail and I’ll
bet Coleman would also be appalled by the most recent propaganda film
on the subject, this one from the UK, and partially paid for with
taxpayer dollars!
Coleman’s not alone is his disgust. While I do believe government can play an important role in research, I think the market works better when private funding recognizes investment risk and chooses its investments carefully. When government subsidies and “crony capitalism” remove all the risk from the equation, a ton of taxpayer dollars will be wasted on foolish ideas that enrich a few at the expense of the majority.
